There are more than 40 events to choose from during World Class Cocktail Week. Across the city, Sydney’s best restaurants, bars and bartenders are putting on cocktail masterclasses, one-off drink specials, themed parties and food-and-drink specials to celebrate.
Dessert Degustation at Bennelong
Peter Gilmore’s Bennelong is hosting a four-course dessert and cocktail degustation for World Class Cocktail Week.
Four of Bennelong’s iconic desserts will be offered, including the cherry-jam lamington and the eight-texture chocolate cake. Each dessert will be paired with a cocktail – the cake, for example, is paired with a Chocolate and Rum Blazer, made with Ron Zacapa rum. Starts at 8.30pm.
World Class Winners at This Must Be The Place
Luke Ashton, World Class Australia Bartender of the Year 2013, and Charlie Ainsbury, World Class Australia Bartender of the Year 2014 and 2016, are recreating their competition-winning drinks for World Class Cocktail Week. Four competition cocktails, which have never been available to the public before, will be at This Must Be The Place for the duration of World Class Cocktail Week. Mon to Sun 3pm–12am
Ice Ball Masterclass at Tokyo Bird
One of the most important ingredients in a good cocktail is good ice. Learn how to carve the perfect, hand-chipped ice ball at Tokyo Bird’s ice ball masterclass.
Tokyo Bird’s bar manager, Yoshi Onishi, will share the secrets of crystal-clear ice and demonstrate how to carve an ice ball from a larger block. You’ll then get to carve your very own, and enjoy it at the end with Singleton of Glen Ord whisky.
Cocktails and Food, Food and Cocktails at Three Blue Ducks
A three-course matched food-and-cocktail degustation will be held at this Bronte favourite to celebrate World Class Cocktail Week.
Three Blue Ducks is keeping its menu for the evening a surprise, but it will be Modern Australian, will start with lots of oysters, and finish with an Espresso Martini-inspired dessert.
